Source: "IDC MarketScape: Asia/Pacific Next–Generation Telcos: Telecom Services 2020 Vendor Assessment", by Hugh Ujhazy and Nikhil Batra, May 2020, IDC Document #AP45366419. IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the circles. Vendor year-over-year growth rate relative to the given market is indicated by a plus, neutral or minus next to the vendor name.

• Hillsboro is an emerging regional hub with 5 data centers within 5 miles from Flexential DC. All 5 data centers are connected by metro fiber supplied by Carriers. • Flexential DC has tenants from all the different verticals. Blade and Roblox are tenants today, Edgecast, Fastly, Limelight, Oracle and Twitter are in discussions with Flexential. • Having a PoP in Flexential will allow Telstra to meet local customer requirements for APAC connectivity. • USFB is the hand-off point of cable systems Hawaiki and NCP with 800G capacity currently. • It also has close proximity to Faster Cable landing station (BAAT), whereby the site has limited/restrictive access, making USFB a good PoP to pick-up Faster capacity • Telstra currently has no capacity to terminate/extend backhauls, customer circuits or subrate customer circuits to this location other than through individual leased circuits • Circuit hand-off can be challenging with multiple party hand-offs between subsea providers and backhaul/local loop providers without Telstra presence to the site. • RFP/RFO is 30th May. Ratecards and IPS have been updated • RFS is targeted for 30th July 2020.

First in the market to provide high capacity services with guaranteed bandwidth availability between Asia’s busiest subsea cable routes
• Offered on 3 diverse paths (EAC, C2C, RNAL), which are routed across Telstra’s own high capacity sub-sea network • According to our fault history reports, all these 3 paths have never gone down at the same time during the past 3 years • Almost seamless restoration of services in the event of a cable cut or damage due to a natural disaster • With its diverse, high capacity subsea cable network, Telstra is capable of offering this level of resiliency and assurance across Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan • Compared to the traditional method of buying multiple unprotected diverse paths, Always On customers receive guarantees on availability allowing customers to more fully utilize each path on their network
Always On – High Resiliency Solution An optional EPL feature
Telstra is uniquely positioned to deliver assured availability, high capacity services due to our unmatched subsea network across the HK-JP-SG-HK route. Three diverse paths across each of the route with each path capable of restoring all traffic from the other paths in the event of single or multiple outages on the same route.
• Assured availability for subscribed bandwidth • Higher resiliency – capacity delivered over 3 paths • Provision according to customers’ requirements • Price stability – as this progresses to larger band width requirements
